We are so excited for our first Pink Boots Society collab beer! On February 9th, ladies from all 3 locations joined our brew team to create an exciting new beer featuring a “Pink Boots” blend of hops. What they came up with is a saison called Against the Currant that draws its unique flavors and aromas from Belgian yeast, black currants, and the hop blend.
The name encapsulates the challenges women have faced both in the beer industry and at large, which is exactly what the Pink Boots Society strives to help with.
“We are the movers and shakers in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry. We make fermented and alcoholic beverages with the highest possible quality. We are the women and non-binary individuals that own the companies, package the product, design the labels, serve the drinks, write about our industry – and just about everything in between. Most importantly, we teach each other what we know through our own seminar programs, and we help each other advance both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house careers by raising money for educational scholarships.” – from the Pink Boots Website
We are incredibly proud of the women of Alter for organizing this brew, as well as all they have and continue to contribute to the success of Alter Brewing Company. Look for this beer to debut at Alter locations on International Women’s Day, March 8th.
