As president Ken’s focus is directly leading the organization’s sales, distribution, marketing, and hospitality divisions while coordinating production efforts to align with organizational strategies. A seasoned leader, Ken is also responsible for organizational development and navigating Alter from a young upstart brewery to an industry leading, multi-faceted brewery and hospitality organization.
Ken has almost three decades of experience in the food service, hospitality and craft beer industries highlighted by his 9 years leading Bottleneck Management’s expansion and 3 years leading Stone Brewing’s Midwest sales and distribution arm. With Bottleneck, as head of operations, Ken grew the company from one tavern and $1M in revenue to 7 restaurants across multiple concepts grossing over $35M in revenue. Ken’s passion for craft beer brought him to Stone Brewing in 2015 where he successfully led Stone’s Midwest sales and distribution arm to company leading annual double digit growth from 2015 through 2018. A burning entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the hospitality industry having never left his blood led him to his current position with Alter.
When not focusing on Alter, Ken spends his time enjoying the company of friends and family, playing golf in a “slightly better than average” kind of way, playing guitar in a “significantly worse than average” kind of way, and being an uncle to his 12 nieces and nephews. A Bartlett, IL native and 20+ year resident of Chicago, Ken currently resides in the South Loop neighborhood with his wife, Julie.
