David Yob
Founder and CEO
David Yob, CEO of Alter Brewing Company, from the beginning envisioned a brewery where inspired hard work and genuine creativity merged. David is focused on guiding Alter through the dynamic landscape of craft beer and hospitality. As a hands-on CEO, David, on any given day can be found diving into sales reports, tasting beer on a QC panel, organizing the breakroom, or modeling up the coming year’s budget. It is all hands on deck when you are building an organization from the ground up.
A University of Michigan Business School graduate, David started his professional career with Coopers & Lybrand. From there he pursued a 19-year career as a derivatives trader and options portfolio manager. He was the founder and manager of a successful independent proprietary options trading group in Chicago. After winding down the trading group in 2013 and following his passion for entrepreneurial endeavors and great beer specifically, David worked tirelessly with his partners to create and launch Alter Brewing Company in Downers Grove.
When the day is done, David can be found spending quality time with his family in Glen Ellyn. He may also be found slapping a Titleist around the local golf course or at the piano making a mess of otherwise great music.
